How to Order

Place an order via our order form. Or phone us at (310) 909-1929 (between 10am-5pm PST).

We will collect and hold the items requested, and then respond with a total for your review and a request for payment.

We accept Paypal, Visa, Mastercard, checks, and money orders. You may call in your Visa and MasterCard number & expiration.
 
California residents must add 8.25% sales tax. Los Angeles County residents must add 9.75% sales tax.

U.S. Shipping

USPS Media Mail shipping is $6 for the first item. $1 for each additional item. 

  • Some large items may require additional postage.
    USPS Priority Mail shipping is available for most items. Priority Mail shipping costs vary by weight and destination.
  • Small item(s) that fit into a 9" x 12" envelope can be shipped by Priority Mail for $7 shipping & handling.
  • A flat rate Priority Mail shipping option is available for most book orders (fitting into a 13-5/8" x 11-7/8" x 3-3/8" box and weighing up to 70 pounds) for $14.

International Shipping

We ship internationally by USPS Global Express Guaranteed®, Express Mail® International, and Priority Mail® International.

  • International shipping costs vary by weight and destination. We will send you a quote with your shipping options and costs after receiving your order.

Priority Mail® Flat Rate International Shipping:

  • Small item(s) that fit into a Flat Rate 9" x 12" envelope can be shipped by Priority Mail® International (estimated at 5-10 days) for $15.
  • Large orders (up to 20 pounds) that fit into a Flat Rate Box (13-5/8" x 11-7/8" x 3-3/8") can be shipped by Priority Mail® International (estimated at 5-10 days) for $46.


How to Read Our Book Descriptions

The first line reads as follows:

The artist’s name in bold (followed by the author’s name if any), the title in capital letters, the serial number you will use when ordering, then the price of the book.
Example:
Claire Wendling. DESK. [SN26577X] $20  

The beginning of the second line reads as follows:

City of Publication,
Publisher,
Publication Date,
Printing,
Size,
Condition of book, then condition of dust-jacket, if any,
then additional descriptive information.

Example:
Torrance: Stuart Ng Books, 2006. 1st. Square 8vo (8-9”), 64pp, monochrome, softcover wraps. VF. A pure sketchbook: 64 pages of pencil drawings by a modern master.

Terms & Abbreviations Used in Our Book Descriptions

“Very Fine” or “VF” describes only crisp flawless books or DJs and is equivalent to “As New” or “Mint.” 

Any item graded “NF” or better is an attractive collectable copy without flaws.  Many items graded “VG” or “VG+” are generally attractive but have some flaw (light chipping, foxing, small tears, etc.) or merely an accumulation of general wear. 


Size (height):    
24mo = 5-6”.             
16mo = 6-7”.              
12mo = 7-7½”.           
Sm 8vo = 7½-8”.        
8vo = 8-9”.
Sm 4to = 9-11”.
4to = 11-13”.
Folio = 13” & up.

Cloth = a hardcover book. The covers are hard boards covered in cloth.
Boards = a hardcover book. The covers are hard boards covered in paper.
Wraps = a soft cover or paperback book.

pp = pages
illus = illustrations or illustrated
DJ = dust-jacket.                     
PC = price clipped.
EPs = endpapers      
FFEP = front free endpaper     
PO = previous owner
PON = previous owner’s name      
pict. bds = pictorial boards
np = no place, or no publisher
nd = no date of publication
aeg = all edges gilt
teg = top edge gilt
