From the publisher:

For the first time, an exhaustive look at the art and career of Walt Kelly! From his days at Disney working on such films as Snow White, Fantasia, Dumbo, and the Mickey Mouse shorts to his work for Dell comics culminating with Pogo, this full-color art book has it all! Packed with original, never-before-seen artwork, Disney artwork, beautiful examples of Kelly's comic book and book covers, and animation art, this definitive survey of Kelly's career presents essays by Walt Kelly scholars Thomas Andrae, Carsten Laqua, and Mark Burstein together with an appreciation by Kelly's stepson, Scott Daley. Also featured is the complete, never-before-printed interview with Ward Kimball, one of Disney's "Nine Old Men," sharing an inside look at Walt Kelly and the Disney Studio, as well as a complete, full-color Pogo Sunday sequence that has never been reprinted. These Sunday strips are from the famous prehysterical sequence in which Kelly created an entire alternate universe of dinosaurs and cave people and has been acclaimed as one of the highlights of the Pogo comic strip.

This came from the library of Burny Mattinson (1935-2023), an animator, director, producer, and story artist for Walt Disney Animation Studios, from 1953 until his death in 2023. Mattinson directed Mickey's Christmas Carol and The Great Mouse Detective. He was named a Disney Legend in 2008 and was the longest serving employee of The Walt Disney Company, with a career that spanned almost 70 years. His extensive library included numerous subjects and especially large collections of books on Disney, animation, and classic comic strips.
